Contact With Other Groups
Very little is known on whether or not the Beothuk had contact with other groups. There is no known trading which occured with Beothuk groups as they were a fairly self sufficient group, still being able to survive if a particular hunt failed, due to their strong supply of food and resources. With the current information we have, it is unclear if the Beothuk people participated in wars or had conflicts with other tribes as they were, for the most part, a secluded society, having only 500-700 members in total. With the evidence we have, the Beothuk only constructed weapons and tools solely of hunting, with no purpose of using weapons to fight others. There is also no known alliance which was made by the Beothuks with other groups.
